Art for an Historic Property

In December 2012, Art Eye was proud to be invited by the owners to create an installation of beautiful, apt and collectible locally-sourced art work, in order to help promote the concepts of 'sustainable luxury' embodied by Lanyon Manor & Coswyn Barn to a wider audience.

Lanyon is a stunning estate, comprising 3 private luxury rental properties - the Manor House, Coswyn Barn and the Coach House - plus a separate barn for weddings and events, all located within beautiful countryside nearby Gwithian Beach, St Ives, Cornwall.
Just before you pass over the threshold, the eye is lead upwards to Lanyon’s coat of arms. The motto is vive ut vivas, translated as "Live that ye may live", "Live and Let Live" or "Live Worthily" - all particularly apt statements in relation to the sustainable luxury project which has been ongoing at Lanyon ever since the current owners started renovations in 1995.

Through this opportunity to work with the owners, we were able to sympathetically enhance the wonderful proposition for guests, by curating original art works into the owner's already extensive collection and also by integrating contemporary furniture pieces by Nicholas Langan into the existing array of up-cycled furniture. All to be experienced within an environmentally sustainable context (including ground source heat pumps, wind turbine, on-site water supply, log-fired hot tubs), creating perhaps the most completely luxurious, yet low-impact wedding venues in Cornwall.
